About Salina Ferry
Salina is the second largest of the seven Aeolian Islands. Salina is formed by six inactive volcanoes, the two youngest and tallest of which are named Fossa delle Felci and Fosse dei Pom. In the Hellenic Age, Salina was named "Didyme", a name which was derived from the two mountains. The modern name for Salina comes from the production of sea salt which was performed on the island. Grapes grown on Salina are used to make Malvasia wine.
