From November 9th 2007 all Isle of Man Steam Packets winter services will be operated by the Ben-my-Chree. On Saturday and Sunday mornings the Ben-my- Chree will depart Douglas at 0800 arriving at Twelve Quays, Liverpool Birkenhead at 1215. She will depart Birkenhead at 1400 arriving at 1815 in Douglas. The Isle of Man Steam Packet. Fast Craft service to Liverpool Pier Head, will recommence 1st March 2008.
About Douglas Ferry
The kingdom of Man is a mystical island located at the geographical centre of the British Isles in the middle of the Irish Sea. The island
is well connected to both Britain and Ireland, with daily departures from the port of Liverpool, Heysham, Dublin and Belfast. The island of Man measures
just 33 miles by 13 but within these shores there is a wealth of discoveries to be made. It is a very different island, with its own legal system and
the world's oldest continuous parliament - Tynwald.
The main port of Douglas has experienced changes with the construction of a second linkspan. This elevated passenger walkway was built on reclaimed land
during the nineties to provide up-to-date facilities for the new design of conventional and fast roll on - roll off ferries now operating to the
island.
Douglas Ferry Port Facilities:
The Douglas ferry port facilities include a cafe and convenience store, while many shops are available in the town of Douglas.
The Terrazza Cafe is open year-round in the Departure Lounge of the Sea Terminal.
The ferries of SeaCat oparating from Douglas port are equipped for those with disabilities, though passengers should inform the ferry company of any
special requirements at the time of making their reservation.
Getting to Douglas ferry port By Car:
The Sea Terminal is reached by the A1 from the West, the A2 from the North and the A5 from the South.
Getting to Douglas ferry port by Rail/Bus:
There are regular bus services to Douglas from across the Island. The bus station is situated at Lord Street in Douglas, approximately 200 metres from
the port terminal. Some buses stop at the ferry terminal to connect with the ferry departures.
