About Turku Ferry
For centuries Turku has acted as the commercial bond between Finland and the rest of Europe, making it one of the most
important shipping ports in Finland and Scandinavia. The Port of Turku was founded on a natural trading post at the mouth of the River Aura,
and has played a pivotal role in the development of this Finnish city. Over four million passengers travel at Turku port annually, travelling
to Stockholm and Kapellskr in Sweden or the land islands.
Transportation to Turku Ferry Port Terminal
Turku is very well connected to the Finnish road and rail network, and ferry connections make onward travel to Stockholm or the land Islands easy.
The road connections around the Turku Port have improved especially towards Helsinki now that the new Helsingintie road runs all the way to the
port. Turku is the key point in the E18 road project that will connect Scandinavia via Finland to the St. Petersburg area and via Russia,
further afield to the east.
The bus terminal is located about 120 metres from the Turku port, and local bus no. 1 departs for Turku city every 15 minutes.
Passengers will find the rail station about 100 metres from the terminal building. The taxi stand in front of the terminal building is
another option. Note that taxis only operate from this stand only when there are ships present.
